Watch your food being prepared in front of you - see raw ingredients transformed into delicious dishes right before your eyes.
Chef's Table's are popular in London and have become a feature of upmarket restaurants. Customers book a table in the kitchen, where they can see their food being cooked and hear the Chef's anecdotes and hints and tricks; whilst enjoying fantastic food and wine. Peter is the perfect chef to host a Chef’s Table as he will share his infectious enthusiasm for all things edible!
As this falls near to Easter, it has prompted Peter to think about Middle Eastern cuisine and so the menu takes inspiration from popular dishes that reflect the cuisine of Israel and Palestine but, of course, with his own inimitable 'twist'. We have no idea whether Jesus ate falafels or not, but we do know that Peter has made these little balls of goodness into a popular dish in Devizes and surrounding area over the past 20 years and he has made them healthier by baking, rather than deep frying. The Middle Eastern Mezze starter platter was always a popular choice on The Bistro (our restaurant) starter menu and also in wraps on street food stall outside the restaurant and at various events where Vaughans Kitchen still set up their Street Food Stall.
The menu for this evening:.
Welcome drink on arrival (alcoholic and non alcoholic version available)
Starter: Middle Eastern Mezze: lavash bread; baba ganoush; houmous
Main: Lamb koftas or home-made falafels (vegetarian & vegan)
Tabbouleh; Tzatziki; potatoes wth preserved lemon; pickled vegetables (another favourite from MasterChef!)
Dessert: Three popular childhood tastes from life in Israel: tahini caramel mousse; olive oil biscuits; hisbiscus
The price includes food and drink, including white and red wine or a non-alcholic drink.
The evening is an eating experience first and foremost and so there is no hands-on cooking by the customer.
