Pizza Time| Oct 2nd |FULLY BOOKED

Wednesday 2nd October | Led by: Peter Vaughan | Two sessions 5.30 - 7pm or 7 - 8.30pm

Sorry - both sessions FULLY BOOKED

Why buy your pizzas when you can make them easily yourself? They cost a fraction of the price, can have your favourite toppings (whatever combination suits you) plus you will know exactly what is in them. Having supported Devizes Food and Drink Festival ever since it started - when Peter Vaughan was a young chef in his twenties - we are delighted to offer the chance this year for you to learn how to make your own pizzas from scratch. There will be tips for using a wood fired oven to bake them or what you need to know to get the best results from baking them in your conventional domestic oven. We'll also be using organic local flour and other ingredients to celebrate the lovely things that grow in Wiltshire.

The evening is broken down into two sessions so that the groups can be small and close attention given to everyone.  Not only will you learn how to make a brilliant pizza base, delicious toppings and baking tips, but also there will be hints as to how to store them so that you can rustle one up in less time than it takes to order or buy an inferior and more expensive equivalent product from your local chain or supermarket.

During the session you will make:

  • organic pizza base
  • delicous topping
  • a pizza to eat for your supper
  • garlic flatbreads

At the end of the hands-on cooking time you'll sit down to eat your creation.  Soft drinks will be available but you are welcome to bring your own wine/beer if you want to - no corkage.  There will be some 'goodies' to take home plus the recipes so that you can start pizza production for friends and family in your own kitchen.
