Simply Sauces | Mar 3rd | £60 NEW

Wednesday 7.00pm - 9.30pm | Led by Peter Vaughan

Every keen cook will benefit greatly by knowing how to make a handful of great 'base' sauces. So many people reach for the packet/jar sauce mix in the supermarket when, with some basic knowledge plus chef's tips they can quickly and easily make their own version, that will taste far superior, contain no artificial or unexpected ingredients and can be 'batch' made so convenient to use when you need it. A simple, well made, sauce is the foundation stone to any great dish.  In the words of the famous Victorian French chef Alexis Soyer,

"Sauces in cookery are like the first rudiments of grammar - the foundation of all languages."

On the Menu:

  • Béchamel  (the base of many famous sauces & dishes)
  • Napolitano (a classic deep flavoured Tomato Sauce)
  • Sauce Aurora (a derivate Sauce made from Béchamel & Napolitano)
  • Classic Vinaigrette
